नीली नगरी जोधपुर में, महिलाओं की ताकत और आकांक्षाओं की एक शांत कहानी नीसा के माध्यम से सामने आ रही है।

हम कौन हैं
In the blue city of Jodhpur, where history dances on every street, a quieter and more personal story has been unfolding.
It begins with women who carry strength but rarely the opportunity to express it.
NISA emerged from a simple observation: communities grow when the women within them are able to imagine new futures for themselves.
NISA is a unit of the Suhale Foundation and works with women from low-income neighbourhoods who face educational, social and
economic barriers. Our approach is rooted in listening before acting and building solutions that reflect the real lives of the women we serve.
जोधपुर की गलियों में इतिहास गूँजता है, लेकिन इसी के बीच एक और शांत कहानी चल रही है – उन महिलाओं की, जिनके पास ताकत तो है, पर अवसर बहुत कम।
नीसा इसी सरल समझ से शुरू हुआ कि जब महिलाएँ नए भविष्य की कल्पना कर सकती हैं, तब पूरा समुदाय आगे बढ़ता है। नीसा, सुहैले फाउंडेशन की इकाई है और
कम आय वाले इलाकों की महिलाओं के साथ काम करता है। हमारा तरीका सुनने, समझने और उनकी वास्तविक ज़िंदगी से जुड़े समाधान बनाने पर आधारित है।

We envision a future where women in low-income neighbourhoods who are socio-educationally marginalised build their own economic
identities with confidence. A future where skill leads to income, income leads to independence and independence leads to dignity.
हमारा विज़न एक ऐसे भविष्य का है जहाँ कम आय वाले मोहल्लों की सामाजिक और शैक्षिक रूप से हाशिये पर रही महिलाएँ आत्मविश्वास के साथ
अपनी आर्थिक पहचान बना सकें। जहाँ कौशल से आय बने, आय से स्वतंत्रता और स्वतंत्रता से गरिमा।
Our Mission
हमारा मिशन
NISA was founded to interrupt the cycle of dependence and vulnerability many women face. Our mission is to build a clear, supportive
pathway from learning to earning through:
- Community-rooted skill development based on women’s expressed needs.
- Training in production readiness – finishing, quality, consistency and delivery.
- Building market-linked livelihood opportunities and home-based income models.
- Embedding dignity, trust and proximity at every stage of our work.
नीसा का उद्देश्य उस चक्र को तोड़ना है जिसमें महिलाएँ निर्भरता और असुरक्षा में फँसी रहती हैं।
हमारा मिशन सीखने से कमाने तक एक स्पष्ट और सहायक रास्ता बनाना है – समुदाय से जुड़े कौशल विकास, उत्पादन की तैयारी,
बाज़ार से जुड़े अवसर और हर कदम पर गरिमा व विश्वास के साथ।
The Fabric of Our Foundation
हमारी नींव की कहानी
The Suhale Foundation is named after Mr Suhale, who as a student leader mobilised women for their rights.
His belief that a community rises when its women rise remains our guiding principle.
The name NISA, meaning women in Arabic, honours Khair-un-Nisa, the grandmother of our founder.
Her insistence on dignity and courage became the emotional foundation of our work.
Today, NISA stands for Nurturing Independence, Strength & Advocacy.
सुहैले फाउंडेशन का नाम श्री सुहैले के नाम पर रखा गया, जो छात्र नेता रहते हुए महिलाओं को उनके अधिकारों के लिए संगठित करते थे।
उनका मानना था कि जब महिलाएँ उठती हैं, तभी समाज उठता है – यही सोच हमारी राह दिखाती है।
नीसा नाम, जिसका अर्थ अरबी में “महिलाएँ” है, हमारी संस्थापक की दादी खैर-उन्न-निसा को समर्पित है,
जिनकी गरिमा और साहस ने हमारे काम की भावनात्मक नींव रखी।
Why NISA Exists
नीसा क्यों ज़रूरी है
The communities we work with face a cluster of interconnected challenges:
- Limited access to skill training and literacy support.
- Early school dropout and fragile educational journeys.
- Insecure marriages and lack of accessible legal support.
- No pathways to dignified, local earning opportunities.
- Deep social stigma around women who wish to work.
- Almost no institutional support within walking distance.
जिन बस्तियों में हम काम करते हैं, वहाँ कई चुनौतियाँ एक साथ मौजूद हैं – कौशल और साक्षरता प्रशिक्षण की कमी, जल्दी स्कूल छोड़ देना,
असुरक्षित वैवाहिक रिश्ते, स्थानीय स्तर पर सम्मानजनक कमाई के रास्तों की कमी, काम करना चाहने वाली महिलाओं के प्रति सामाजिक कलंक
और पास-पड़ोस में कोई संस्थागत सहारा न होना। नीसा इन परिस्थितियों के बीच भरोसे, नज़दीकी और गरिमा पर आधारित हस्तक्षेप के रूप में काम करता है।

Founder - Parveen Sheikh
संस्थापक - परवीन शेख
Our founder’s training in Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy at Jamia Millia Islamia and JNU shaped the analytical
foundation of NISA’s work. Experience working with Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, contributing to policy in a Member
of Parliament’s office and teaching in public schools in Spain deepened her understanding of exclusion across contexts.
As an elected student union leader, she learned how to build consensus, design participatory processes and lead diverse
teams with clarity and empathy.
हमारी संस्थापक की शिक्षा जमिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया और जेएनयू में “सोशल एक्सक्लूज़न और इनक्लूसिव पॉलिसी” पर हुई,
जिसने नीसा के काम की विश्लेषणात्मक नींव रखी। नोबेल विजेता कैलाश सत्यार्थी के साथ काम करने, सांसद कार्यालय में नीतिगत कार्य में योगदान देने
और स्पेन के सार्वजनिक विद्यालयों में पढ़ाने के अनुभव ने उनके दृष्टिकोण को और गहराई दी।
छात्र संघ की निर्वाचित नेता रहते हुए उन्होंने संवाद, सहयोग और विविध टीमों के साथ संवेदनशील नेतृत्व करना सीखा।

Our director brings lived expertise that grounds our work. She understands the social realities, constraints and
aspirations of local women with clarity, ensuring our interventions remain relevant and rooted in community trust.
हमारी निदेशक अपने अनुभव से नीसा के काम को जमीनी मजबूती देती हैं। स्थानीय महिलाओं की परिस्थितियों, चुनौतियों और आकांक्षाओं को वह गहराई से
